Spaetzle!

My friend Marisa had spaetzle for the first time a while back. Since then I've been obsessed with making some at home. Fresh herbed spaetzle! (recipe from epicurious) The phases appearance wise are:
yum-potential.

ew. colanders usually come too small to make it look like restaurant food. baggie with a hole works WONDERFULLY! still looks ew.

Baking attempts - yay birthdays!

The good thing about other people's birthdays, is you get to make horrible for you foods (diet or no), and give it all away. Maybe not all. Maybe all but a bite, or two.

Attempt 1:
Orange chocolate chip cupcakes (recipe from epicurious). Delicious.
**um... ran out of choc chips, substituted with mint choc. chips

Attempt 2: with some skepticism
Peanut butter and Jelly Cakewhich (recipe courtesy of the cakewhich silicone pan box.... hence skepticsm). May just find a recipe I trust for the cake, then do the rest per box.
**Paula Deen it is.

The goal...

starts with this...

just watched jersey shore. boom.

We're on a diet

When I first imagined this blog, it was going to be a culinary adventure filled with the most delicious food combinations Cindy could imagine.  Sadly, today is the start of our Spring cleaning diet.

Good news though, we had one last hurrah before taking the dietary plunge this morning.  Kona Kitchen, one of the best places to bust a diet.  This morning Cindy ate:  Fried Rice Loco Moco (Hawaiian fried rice topped with a hamburger patty, fried egg, and brown gravy), Spam Musubi, and a side of Mac Salad.  We should have taken pictures.
